What If Earth Had Rings?

the interesting question, what would Earth look like if it had rings like Saturn? This animation was done by Roy Prol, and it shows not only how the rings would look from space, but also the view Earthlings would have of the rings. Prol says the ring views from Earth's surface were created according to the location's latitude and the viewer's orientation, and that the size of the rings was calculated respecting the Roche limit for the Earth. A very intriguing concept, and the video is very well done. The only bad thing about Earth having rings is that we probably wouldn't have our Moon, and we wouldn't have just found water on it!

cleaning the boulevard

Have you noticed more than a 150 workers ( only half of them are doing something ) cleaning the boulevard between SC and the bridge , Why ?? spending so much money for nothing, in one month the grass will be back again. The same for the working on the road connection between the boulevard and the road to el Delfinario, Nobody understands what they are doing breaking and repairing and breaking again for more than one year now, like the decoration on the gloriata with those 2 big tile lizards that nobody can see except if you have a helicopter!!

There must be be somebody making a lot of money on those projects ,

Instead of using it to repair all the roads in SCarlos.

Millions of pesos are lost but not for everybody !!!

Peter's BBQ opened up today - tried the Brisket

Peter's BBQ opened up today. (not my place...it belongs to one of the other Irish/English Pedro's in town).

I was his first customer! I had the Brisket sandwhich and BBQ beans. Very good.

Located next to The Edge ATV rentals.

Hi gang, I'm currently on injury reserve (pinched nerve in shoulder and much pain in my left arm.) Ergo, no guitar playing for awhile. I had to sit out much of the fun last night at La Palapa. Bummer. Anyway, we are going on hiatus from Evies through the holidays...back in January. Back at La Palapa after Thanksgiving even if I still can't play guitar...Hope that won't be the case, but we've got the TWINS with us so not a big deal. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

What's this about a La Manga fundraiser tonight?

I heard through the cactus telegraph that there is some kind of fundraiser for the victims of Jimena in La Manga tonight. Supposedly at El Mirador with a band. I believe a 10.00 US donation is requested.

Anyone know what time? And who has organized this?

Nov. 20th report

Still some warm water fish out there. The weather is nice, so conditions may improve and the fish could move back in. My friend said there were lots of marlin out there. He caught 21 small dorado. Of the four boats out, two 30#+ dorado were caught. No signs of the tuna yesterday, though things can change in a day or they could be found. We had one on last week and missed a few bites. There is lots of bait out there - flying fish and sardines.

There are some yellowtail being caught at the Island. We caught three small ones in close off San Antonio along the rocks with the sierra. A few bonita are being caught there and there are lots at the Island. We caught a dozen nice ones one day, along with a dozen sierra on the way up the coast, and found a dead whale loaded with small dorado.

Just off town and around the rocks we have caught nice 3-7# pargo and cabrilla. I would bet that there are plenty up the coast if you fish off the rocks. The sierra fishing at times couldn't be better and we have been catching fish up to 9#. They sure taste good smoked!

Will be hopefully going to the bass tournament at Oviache/Obregon in the morning. I don't want to just stick with the limited types of fishing here, right?

Let me know if you have interest in sharing a boat with others at a very economical price this winter (it sure doesn't feel like it though).

Stolen boat

If someone had an 18 or 20 foot cabin cruiser stolen it is in the desert at the far end of Calle H. The trailer is gone and it has been striped. It is just a shell. Thought someone may want to know if they lost one.
